Dear Friends,
It was a great pleasure inviting your country delegation to participate in the Twelfth Asian Physics Olympiad to be held from May 1st to May 9th, 2011 in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
Up-to-date I have received the confirmation from the following 17 countries and regions. The official invitation letters have been sent to your Education Authorities by regular mail. A couple of weeks ago a copy of the letter has been sent to the contact person of each country by e-mail. We will also keep close contact with a few countries that have not expressed yet their intention to participate in 2011.

In order to facilitate the process of preparation, please fill in the following short form of pre-registration and return it to us as soon as possible to email address:

All leaders, observers and visitors will be staying at the luxurious Crown Plaza Hotel, situated on the seashore of Tel-Aviv where all rooms are facing the Mediterranean Sea. All students will be staying at the comfortable and spacious Kfar Maccabiah Hotel & Suites.
Leaders, observers and guests will be asked to share a double room. Those who prefer a single-occupancy room will have to pay an additional charge of $500 ($62.5 per night) for the Olympiad period. Payment will be maid upon check-in at the hotel. A limited number of single-occupancy rooms are available; therefore, the first-come-first- served policy will be applied for those who wish to book this type of room.
If your team is planning to come to Israel earlier than May 1st or depart later than May 9th, please contact us in advance and we would be glad to assist you in reserving proper accommodation.
Entry Visas
It is highly recommended that you apply for visas at your earliest convenience. You may apply at each of the Israeli Consulates that are located close to you.
In order to assist you with issuing a landing visa, I'd ask that you'll send me the names and passport numbers of your delegation members at your earliest convenience. Please emphasize in your letter to me whether or not there is an Israeli Consulate/Israeli Representative Office in your country.
The duration of stay is a maximum of 90 days.
Please note the following visa requirements:
1. Your passport has to be valid for at least six months.
2. Attach the invitation letter issued by us.
3. Two passport pictures
Medical Insurance
It is highly recommended that delegates will purchase suitable travel and medical insurance in their own country. The organizers will not be responsible for any medical expenses incurred by the leaders, students, observers and visitors during their participation during the Olympiad period. During the 12th APhO, our medical staff will be on hand to take care of the health of all participants on a daily basis. There are several major hospitals within a few minutes' drive from the APhO venues and lodging hotels.
Payment of Fees
All payments including voluntary fee (US$1,000) and the charges for observers (US$1,100) and visitors (US$1,000) should be paid either at the reception desk upon your arrival in Tel-Aviv or by electronic transfer in advance.

Although almost all of the major international airlines have direct flights to Tel-Aviv, we would like to recommend you to book air flight for your delegation as early as possible. If for some reason you have to arrive in Tel-Aviv earlier than May 1st, 2011, please inform us well in advance. We will be pleased to assist you with your lodging arrangements.
In order to type the translations of the examination questionnaire, each delegation will have a PC at its disposal with Microsoft Office 2007 installed in it. In case you'll require special software, it is highly recommended to bring your own laptop computer for your own use.

User names and passwords for logging-in to the registration form have been sent to each contact person by e-mail a few days ago.
